What is THC?

It’s important to note that many studies examining the medical use of THC cannabinoids are still in preliminary stages. However, the recent expansion of hemp legalization has increased the availability of biomass for research purposes.
THC Starts as THCA
Before THC cannabinoids like Delta 8 or Delta 9 are formed, they begin as THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid). According to WebMD, “If you smoke or vaporize THCA, it instantly changes into THC, which can produce a high.”
This transformation occurs through a process known as decarboxylation. For decarboxylation to happen, THCA must be heated to temperatures between 220°F and 240°F. This is why smokable hemp flower and concentrates need to be heated for individuals to experience their effects.
